Pinguicula 'Weser' × Pinguicula jaumavensis is a cultivated Mexican butterwort hybrid that combines the vigour and colourful foliage of the popular hybrid Pinguicula 'Weser' with the compact growth and refined characteristics of Pinguicula jaumavensis. Both parents originate from lineages adapted to the limestone-rich mountains of Mexico, where butterworts naturally grow on rocky cliffs, moss-covered outcrops, and mineral-rich seepage zones. This cross typically produces attractive, symmetrical rosettes that blend the robust nature of 'Weser' with the elegant form of P. jaumavensis.

The carnivorous leaves are covered in thousands of microscopic glands that secrete a sticky mucilage used to capture small insects. Fungus gnats, fruit flies, and other tiny arthropods become trapped on the leaf surface, where digestive enzymes break down prey and release nutrients that are absorbed directly through the foliage. Depending on growing conditions, the leaves may range from bright green to shades of pink, peach, bronze, or reddish-purple, particularly under stronger light. Mature plants produce attractive flowers on slender stems held above the rosette, usually displaying soft lavender to violet-purple tones inherited from both parents.

Like many Mexican butterwort hybrids, Pinguicula 'Weser' × Pinguicula jaumavensis undergoes a seasonal transition between actively carnivorous growth and a compact succulent phase during cooler or drier periods. The hybrid is valued for its combination of colourful foliage, attractive flowers, and reliable growth, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced collectors. Its balanced growth habit and ornamental appeal make it an excellent example of the diversity and beauty that can be achieved through hybridisation within the genus.
