Pinguicula 'Weser' is one of the most popular and widely cultivated Mexican butterwort hybrids, combining the compact growth habit of Pinguicula ehlersiae with the vigour and adaptability of Pinguicula moranensis. Originally developed by German horticulturist Alfred Lau, this hybrid has become a staple of carnivorous plant collections worldwide due to its attractive foliage, reliable growth, and ease of cultivation. Like all butterworts, Pinguicula 'Weser' captures small insects using specialised leaves covered in microscopic glands that secrete a sticky mucilage.
