In the wild, plants are typically found growing on moss-covered cliffs, shaded rock faces, and mineral-rich seepage zones where moisture is available for much of the year. This locality form develops attractive rosettes of succulent leaves and is valued by collectors for its restricted distribution and connection to one of Mexico's most important centres of butterwort diversity.
