Like other members of the genus, Pinguicula 'Aphrodite' captures small insects using specialised leaves covered in microscopic glands that secrete a sticky mucilage. Fungus gnats, fruit flies, and other tiny arthropods become trapped on the leaf surface, where digestive enzymes break down prey and release nutrients that are absorbed directly through the foliage. The leaves form a broad rosette of bright green foliage that may develop subtle pink or bronze tones under stronger light. During the flowering season, mature plants produce exceptionally large flowers in shades of rich pink to lavender-purple. The blooms are often significantly larger than those of many other butterworts and may be produced repeatedly throughout the year.
