Drosera closterostigma is a miniature carnivorous pygmy sundew native to south-west Western Australia. It forms a compact rosette of green petioles and deep red, dew-covered traps that glisten in bright light. Mature plants may produce delicate white flowers with striking red markings near the base of each petal, as well as gemmae during the cooler growing season.

Growing guide
- Light: Very bright light to full sun; acclimatise gradually to intense conditions.
- Water: Use rainwater, distilled water or reverse-osmosis water. Keep moist during active growth using the tray method.
- Soil: Nutrient-poor, free-draining carnivorous plant mix, such as peat with washed sand or perlite.
- Feeding: The sticky leaves catch small insects. Do not use standard fertiliser.
- Seasonal care: As a Western Australian pygmy sundew, growth may slow and the plant may form a compact resting bud during hot, dry conditions. Avoid prolonged waterlogging during this resting phase while keeping the medium from drying out completely.
Plants are living products and may vary naturally in size and colour. Red colouration and dew production are strongest under suitable bright light.
