Dionaea muscipula 'Booman's Mutant' is a famous mutant Venus Flytrap selected and distributed by carnivorous plant enthusiast Booman. The cultivar became well known for its unpredictable and highly unusual trap morphology, making it a favourite among collectors of abnormal flytrap forms.
Plants frequently produce distorted traps with irregular lobes, unusual cilia arrangement and variable growth patterns. Individual traps can differ substantially from one another, giving mature plants a chaotic appearance. Colouration ranges from green to red depending on growing conditions.
The cultivar is prized because of its extreme mutation and collector appeal. Despite the variability of individual traps, the overall mutant character remains stable when propagated vegetatively. It remains one of the most recognisable mutant Venus Flytrap cultivars in cultivation.
